Gemma is our future breeding hope pending health evaluations at 18-24 months old. Feminine in body and face, Gemma is a very silly girl and is dubbed as the "class clown" among her playmates. She has a non-serious, free-spirited and playful temperament which it seems she inherited. Gemma has very high food drive and we plan on taking advantage of this by training in obedience and nose-work in the future. Gemma absolutely adores affection from all people and there is no such thing as "strangers" in her dictionary. We plan to start therapy work with her in 2024. 

Back-story: For several years we have kept our eyes on litter plans from Vanessa Victorious (Gemma's mother), waiting for her to be mated with a male whose bloodlines would not only be unique to our kennel, but to others as well. Vanessa has always stood out to me and was a star in my eyes at many European dog shows. Wagging her tail in the show rings with eyes glued to her handler (basically a Golden Retriever in a Shepherd body) I initially fell in love with her very happy and free-spirited temperament. Mama Vanessa is a large boned and a stunning example of the breed. Later on I was ecstatic to hear that Vanessa's very final breeding before her retirement was to be mated to Carefree of Black and White Island - a male with a less common pedigree and other criteria matching what I was looking for in a breeding combination. Fast forward to Feb 2022 and Vanessa and Silver (Carefree of BWI) together helped create beautiful babies and among them is our sweet Gemma.

Although Gemma's family tree consists of some very prestigious show dogs including multi-champion & World Winner Waroggi Maitreya, her bloodline is surprisingly not very common. I am excited to have obtained a puppy with the lineage that I have always admired as our kennel's first foundation breeding female and look forward to continuing this line. Gemma is still a developing female but we are very pleased with how she has been turning out.
