BARON
Stud Male

 Baron is the perfect blend of both calm and playful. Our teddy bear is what we would describe as a happy-go-lucky, non-dominant male who is cautious and mindful of the energy another dog has. He is a very affectionate and cuddly dog indoors, but outside he is more of an independent loner while the rest of the dogs are being rambunctious. Wherever we go, no matter how many people, dogs, are present - his first and foremost priority is sniffing and "investigating" the area a hundred times. After he is finished he finally then says hello and will play. We plan to test his strong nose after he arrives in the USA. Along with his strong nose, Baron also has extreme eye on the prize laser focus with very high food drive which makes taking photos of him very easy; or doing anything quite easy.

 

Along with his natural desire to please, Baron is what I would consider a softer type of Shepherd - he only needs the most minimal correction and yields to our direction more easily compared to our more strong willed females.  Overall Baron is a easy-going and flexible dog to live with; a dog who intuitively knows what someone is trying to communicate. Usually I would not say that White Swiss Shepherds are the best breed for first time dog owners, but a dog such as Baron would no doubt be an exception. With this balanced and a non-fussy temperament it is no surprise that he has won "#1" in the hearts of even my elderly family members and with friends that have zero dog experience.

Beauty / Conformation

 

We may be biased but Baron is a stunning example of the breed. His plush long-coat and lion's mane is one of his trademarks. In fact, he is not referred to as a wolf (a typical comment you will hear about this breed) but instead as a lion from those walking by. Not only does he have a lion's mane which accentuates his chest even more, but he exerts a very powerful and majestic energy similar to that of a lion when he moves. This fluffy boy's movement is very fluid and light as he effortlessly trots with his head and chest held high. We often joke that whether it is a quick stop at the convenient store or a stroll in the park, what ever the occasion is - Baron never makes it look casual, but instead as if he is walking a beauty pageant runway.

 

Baron's expressive and very handsome face is what also makes him a recognizable face within the White Swiss Shepherd community. As the first dog part of our breeding program, he has set the bar very high for our beauty standard - black pigmentation in all areas (nose, eye-rims, lips, belly, ears) that stay dark even in winter months, perfect ears, nicely rounded feet, etc... His tail can be seen set high when aroused however it is the correct saber-shaped tail. We prefer large over small foxy ears so we are happy about his charismatic Shepherd ears that are set moderately close together (can you tell we have an obsession about ears?). Overall Baron has great bone substance in both face & body for his 63 cm height at the shoulders which is considered just normal height for a male.

You are welcome to contact us to learn about the conditions for stud service. * Baron will only be mated to females that are clear of both MDR1 and DM. He has sired two litters so far with beautiful results. Puppies have grown up to have playful and social temperaments, with no known issues.

Baron is a grandson of World Winner Azimut Ortus and great-grandson of multi-champion Cherokee Baltic Beauty du Bois des Ternes. His pedigree is quite prevalent in his looks as he shows strong resemblance to his successful ancestors. This bloodline carries a very specific phenotype that has been successfully (because it is not easy for dogs to pass their looks so strongly to their offspring let alone for 3+ generations!) passed down to each generation. They are all strong boned and structurally proportional males who have maintained that signature sweet teddy bear face and extra thick long coat.
